Emergency crews and two flat deck trucks from Calnash Trucking were used Friday morning to pull this large rock hauler out of the river. Alberta Environment was notified of the incident and that there was diesel that entered the river. Photo submitted

The second vehicle involved in the Friday night collision had relatively minor damage to it, however, its airbags did deploy. The vehicle ended up in the southbound lane of Highway 2A. The driver of a pickup is believed to have suffered minor injuries Nov. 22 at 11 p.m. after his truck crashed through a guard rail and into the median. After a special meeting with the county locks were changed and the county took over

Ponoka County took over fire services for the Town of Ponoka Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. The county held a special meeting at 1 p.m. to discuss the issue and approved the request to take over services.
