A poem for Remembrance Day

Submitted by Konstantin Cody Vorosmarty in the 18+ category

Cold and dark

Those were the days

With ash fallen skies

And nowhere to rest

In this dark fray

We lacked

But yet we fought

We struggled

But not for naught

Across the field

The fallen soldiers

The barren sky

Yet all the loss and wounds

They brought us closer

The freedom we got

The freedom we maintain

The peace and rest at home

We celebrate this and every

Remembrance Day
