Wonders of a concrete design

Every once in awhile I come across something really cool in design, I see many things in magazines but to be able to see creativity right before my eyes is a definite treat.

I was fortunate enough to tour the offices of TerraForma Concrete Designs Ltd. last week and was truly impressed by the products I found being created in this unassuming store front in north Red Deer.

Dean Reorda, sole proprietor of this company introduced me to concrete countertops, fireplaces, sinks and custom works in a multitude of shapes and colours.

I was fascinated at the smooth, polished appearance of these kitchen countertops and excited to see all the options available with this completely customizable product. Artisan sinks, fireplaces and full countertops with the sinks moulded right into the formation were inviting and incredible to see.

This product is environmentally responsible, does not stain and will offer you a unique and beautiful creation for your home. If you are searching for a unique touch for a bathroom, kitchen or living room, this may be the product you have been searching for.

A countertop with a continuous flow into a sink offers beauty and ultimate clean ability, absolutely no ridges or edges to scrub – that is EXCITING!

When you imagine concrete countertops you may be envisioning your driveway concrete being installed in your kitchen, which is not sexy. This product is glamorous, offered in 20 colours with your choice of glossy or matte finish.

It also can be customized with glass, exposed aggregate and can be inlaid with almost any flat item you can imagine. Have I mentioned that it is thoroughly custom? I can visualize this product in any kitchen from contemporary to traditional.

Contemporary finishes such as vessel sinks as well as traditional farmhouse kitchen sinks are all possible and very beautiful.

Once your ideal countertop has been designed, it is created in any number of beautiful colours then polished until it glows. The surface is then treated with a food safe penetrating sealer and cured with a UV light (similar to what you may have experienced at the dentist), this finish is completely stain proof and brings out the beautiful nuances and individual character of the concrete.

The possibilities of a completely custom product are endless, a beautiful decorative element for your home which is made right here in Red Deer.

You can have almost anything you can dream and create. There aren’t many products we can say that about! Using a lustrous finish such as concrete paired with a stunning jewel like glass backsplash would give any kitchen a glam make over – you can even use it to update existing cabinets, bathrooms and fireplace surrounds.

I encourage you to surf the web to experience TerraForma Concrete. Dean is eager and able to make your design dreams come true with a unique and custom product for your home.

Please visit www.terraformaconcrete.com to see a gallery of beautiful concrete options for your home. I would be happy to help you design a new item for your home and of course co-ordinate it with gorgeous tile or any other products you may require.
