Red Deer RCMP have released a statement regarding a dog attack at the Oxbows Off-Leash Dog Park on March 15th.

At 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a 60-year-old female was walking her four dogs when two of them started fighting with each other.

The female owner/victim attempted to break up the dogs and was bitten in the face, arm and hand, said Staff Sgt. Damon Poole of the Red Deer RCMP.

She was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

RCMP, EMS, and Alberta Animal Services assisted with this incident.

The dogs are now in the care of Alberta Animal Services.
