Three suspects from Red Deer arrested in Olds

Resident of Olds called police after recognizing stolen vehicle suspects were in on facebook

On June 5th at 9:22 a.m., Olds RCMP were dispatched to a complaint of a stolen vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of Walmart.

A resident of Olds directed the RCMP detachment and stated that a white Dodge Caravan is parked at the location with five occupants in the vehicle who appeared to be on drugs. The resident also believed she saw the vehicle listed as stolen on facebook.

RCMP attended the scene, confirmed the vehicle was stolen and located a male a female inside the vehicle. RCMP attempted to arrest the couple but they fled the scene at a high rate of speed and the police were not able to pursue due to public safety concerns. RCMP located two other suspects inside Marks Work Warehouse and a third suspect was located trying to walk away from the scene in the parking lot.

RCMP have arrested and charged Valerie Matson, 54 , Trevor Thibodeau, 31, and Simon Pelletier, 39, with possession of stolen property. Warrants are being sought for the male and female who fled the scene in the stolen vehicle which was recovered in Red Deer later that same day. All accused are residents from Red Deer.

RCMP thank and give credit to local residents for their quick thinking and supplying information that was timely and accurate to responding officers. It was instrumental in subjects being identified and charged.
