Organizers are getting revved up for the 2011 Red Deer Motorcycle Show this weekend.

It runs Feb. 18-20 at Westerner Park.

Folks can expect to see Harleys, Hondas, Kawasakis, Suzukis and other vendors showcasing clothing, gear, custom rides and generally all things related to motorcycling. Everyone from avid riders to those just starting to familiarize themselves with motorcycling will take away something from the event, organizers say.

Also, $1 from every ticket cold will be donated to the Red Deer Food Bank. A silent auction with 100% of proceeds supporting the Central Alberta Women’s Outreach Society will also be held.

Other highlights include ‘Elevated Taktics’ riders Craig Phillips and Billy Kohut who will be performing a thrill show for audiences. The Second Gear Club will be hosting trials motorcycling demonstrations featuring riders of all ages and levels.

Also onhand at the event will be the Central Alberta Vintage Motorcycle Group and their stock of bikes from earlier days displayed at the show’s entrance.

The event is also something of a family affair, with face painting, a kids’ corner and balloon art. Kids can also ride with the Honda Junior Riders who will be offering lessons with certified instruction.

Meanwhile, hours for the show are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 18; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 19 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 20.
