Community garden plots in Red Deer are sold out for the 2011 planting season.

The City of Red Deer offers over 150 community garden plots in three locations around town where citizens can plant everything from carrots to potatoes, peas and strawberries. Public registration for the garden plots began April 19.

Garden plots are located at the Red Deer College Gardens (100 College Boulevard), Piper Creek Gardens (1709 40 Ave.) and Parkside Gardens (5320 67 St.).

Fees for the program this year were $36 for a large plot (10 X 12 metres) and $22 for a medium plot (5 X 12 or 6 X 10 metres).
