Reader offers Centennial project idea

Paris has its Eiffel Tower. Children sing about London’s Bridge. New York has its Statue of Liberty. Vegreville touts a seven metre egg. In Moose Jaw, the 10 metre high Mac the Moose greets tourists.

Why does Red Deer not also capitalize on its name?

What about a 10 metre high leaping deer somewhat similar in style to the one in Red Deer’s former ‘A Delight to Discover’ logo?

The next question is where to put it? One possibility is at the intersection of Taylor Dr. and Ross St.

Let’s make it a Centennial project!
