Tickets sales cut-off coming up for Hospitals’ Home Lottery

With a range of prizes up for grabs including a ‘dream home’ in Southbrook, the Hospitals’ Home Lottery 2011 was launched last month.

Proceeds from this year’s lottery, which is presented by the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, will support the purchase of patient monitors in the Red Deer Regional Hospital’s intensive care unit.

Organizers are encouraging folks to pick up their tickets as the early bird ticket purchase cut-off deadline is May 24 at 11 p.m.

The early bird draw date is June 7. The bonus draw cut-off for tickets is June 5 at 11 p.m. with the draw on June 17.

The last day to purchase tickets is June 12, with the final draw on June 24.

Those who purchase their tickets for the early bird are also entered into the bonus draw and the final draw.

As to the house, staff are thrilled with the feedback they’ve been hearing as people drop by to have a look and pick up their tickets, said Shannon Van Parys, project officer for the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation.

The house boasts an array of ultra-modern features combined with a comfortable, inviting atmosphere, she said.

“It’s top of the line from the cabinetry to the flooring and windows.”

The Foundation is again partnering with True-Line Contracting Ltd. for the house – a 2,400 sq. ft. dream home located at 52 Sisson Ave.

Highlights of the house, valued at $708,000, include open spaces, cork and tile floors, quartz and Corian countertops, elegant finishing and an overall creative, modern design. Kitchen cupboards open up and out with a simple touch and there’s even a television placed within the mirrors of the bathroom off the master bedroom.

As to the outside, there will eventually be a putting green in the back yard amidst the landscaping.

Show home hours are noon to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Meanwhile, early bird prizes include a 2011 Prime Time Tracer 2600 RLS Trailer
and 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT OR $57,500 in cash.

There is also a bonus draw for a spot in either the 2012 Wayne Gretzky Fantasy Camp or a weekend excursion for the winner and one guest to join NHL players Jim Vandermeer, Derek Morris, Brandon Sutter, and Trent Hunter in Phoenix, Arizona.

This includes a round of golf at the private course The Silverleaf Club in Scottsdale, bass fishing in Peoria with The Hookup Outfitters, flights, hotel accommodations and airport transfers. The winner of the bonus draw can also opt for $10,000 in cash.

Rounding out the Hospitals’ Lottery prizes this year are a 2011 Ford Mustang convertible, a 2011 Harley-Davidson Street Bob, a 2011 Honda CR-Z and a 2011 Dodge Journey.

Tickets are $25 each, five for $100 or 15 for $250.

As for the monitors which will be purchased, they will provide information which is easily accessed and recorded from the patient’s bedside.

It’s a vital addition to the hospital, as the facility truly services the entire Central Alberta region. “We need the best equipment money can buy.”
