Red Deer RCMP are investigating an incident outside a downtown bar early Saturday morning that saw three men sent to hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds.

RCMP responded to a report shortly after 2 a.m. on March 4th that several men had been stabbed after an altercation on Gaetz Avenue between 46th St. and 47th St.

RCMP have determined that a group of four men were assaulted in the parking lot of a downtown bar located at 46th St. and Gaetz Avenue after leaving that establishment.

Three men were treated by Red Deer EMS staff on scene for non-life-threatening stab wounds and a fourth man was assaulted but not stabbed. The stabbing victims were transported to hospital where they were deemed to be in stable condition.

Red Deer RCMP have conducted a number of witness interviews, searched the area and reviewed video surveillance from businesses in the area.

The victims reported being attacked by four or more suspects who were not known to them, and described one suspect as a Caucasian man, approximately 6’1” tall, with a skinny build, wearing a light-coloured hoodie or track suit.

The victims were not able to provide police with any further descriptions of suspects. The suspect was seen running east on 47th St. after the altercation.

RCMP continue to investigate and are asking witnesses who may have seen the altercation to contact police.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575.
