Shots fired at RCMP detachment

  • Mar. 14, 2016 10:35 p.m.

The downtown Red Deer RCMP detachment has been closed to the public after an incident this afternoon in which second storey windows in the detachment lobby were shot at from a passing vehicle with an as yet unidentified replica firearm or firearm.

Citizens are being redirected to the north detachment until further notice.

Red Deer RCMP located the suspects shortly after the incident in the Bower neighbourhood and have taken four individuals into custody.

No one was injured in this incident and the detachment windows did not break due to their protective coating. The detachment has been closed as a precaution only, to ensure the continued safety of the public.
