PUBLIC PROTEST – Supporters of the Red Deer Michener Centre rallied against Premier Redford closing the facility on Tuesday. The group of nearly 200 people met at Coronation Park and headed to the front of Mary Anne Jablonski’s office, a local MLA, where they repeatedly chanted for her to come outside and speak with them, but she did not as organizers of the protest stated she had promised to. The group then proceeded to march throughout the down town area having citizens sign a petition to protest the closure. The sea of blue shirts could be seen all over downtown Red Deer.
