Also, it wouldn’t be a Canada Day celebration without fireworks, and the Red Deer Cultural Heritage Society has secured a new location for the display to happen.

Fireworks will be set off from the Westerner Park racetrack grandstand on Monday, July 1 at 11:30 p.m. Gates at Westerner Park will open at 10:30 p.m. and will close at 12:30 a.m.

There will be no charge for parking and public washrooms are available in Agricentre West. Residents are reminded that there is no open liquor permitted on site for this event.

Since there is ample parking at Westerner Park, there will be no Park & Ride service offered from the Collicutt Centre to Westerner Park for the fireworks display.

The City of Red Deer would like to thank the Red Deer Cultural Heritage Society and Westerner Park for their efforts and cooperation in making Canada Day special for Red Deerians.
