The Calgary Police Service is investigating an indecent act and is asking for help identifying a person of interest that investigators believe may be involved.

Police have received tips over the weekend that the suspect may live, work or regularly visit Red Deer. However, while the people who contacted the Calgary Police have seen him in Red Deer, no one knew his identity.

The suspect is wanted after police were called to a movie theatre located at 91 Crowfoot Terrace N.W. in Calgary at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 27th, for reports of a man masturbating in one of the theatres. When the man realized he was being watched, he left the theatre through an emergency exit.

The man was described as Caucasian, in his 40s, 5’7” to 5’9” tall, with a heavy build and light hair. He was wearing a black jacket and black pants.

Investigators are releasing CCTV photos of a person of interest in this case with the hope that he can be identified and questioned as part of the investigation.

Anyone with information on the identity of this person is asked to call the Calgary Police Service at 1-403-266-1234 or at Crime Stoppers by 1-800-222-8477. Tipsters can also visit www.calgarycrimestoppers.org to provide information or by texting tips to 274637.
