Assault victim sent to hospital with facial injuries

Red Deer RCMP search for suspect after assault in Riverside Meadows

Red Deer RCMP are looking for public assistance to identify the man who assaulted a man the afternoon of April 21st in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood, sending him to hospital with numerous facial injuries.

At 5:30 p.m. on April 21st, RCMP responded to a report of an injured man in a field in the area of 54th Ave. and 60th St.

EMS attended and took the 49-year-old victim to hospital, where he was treated for facial injuries that will require surgery. The victim was not able to provide a description of his assailant, who was noted to be a male with dark hair.

RCMP continue to investigate.

Police are asking anyone who saw suspicious activity at that time or have information about this incident to contact the Red Deer RCMP at 403-343-5575.
