Remembering our fallen officers

I was impressed by the article ‘Police dog legacy to fallen Mountie’ printed Nov. 3.

What a great idea Aidan Schafer had, to name a newly trained RCMP puppy after the late Brock Myrol.

I hope it becomes a tradition of the Canadian Police Force to honour all their slain officers in this manner; especially the other three Mayerthorpe victims: Peter Schiemann, Anthony Godron, Lionide Johnston.

The police force is part of our Canadian heritage. We need to remember the fallen and appreciate those public servants still working for us.
