Red Deer RCMP respond to vehicle-pedestrian collision

SUV allegedly hit two pedestrians in the East Hill Shopping Centre

Red Deer RCMP attended the East Hill Shopping Centre on 22nd St. at 2:30 p.m. today after a collision between an SUV and two pedestrians.

Two adult pedestrians were treated on scene by Red Deer Emergency Services staff after being struck by an SUV at a low speed in the parking lot; they were both transported to hospital for further treatment. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene, and RCMP continue to investigate. At this point in the investigation, RCMP have determined that neither alcohol nor speed were factors in the collision.

Vehicle movement in a portion of the parking lot was impacted during the early stage of the collision investigation but traffic along 22nd St. was not impacted.
