RCMP arrest two after suspicious vehicle investigation

Both suspects are from Red Deer

On Feb. 1st at 9 p.m. while on routine patrol an Innisfail RCMP member observed a suspicious vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.

The vehicle fled from police and was located a short time after abandoned in the middle of a road with extensive damage.

The investigation continued and within a short period of time one male and one female were arrested. Both individuals were found to be wanted on numerous warrants and the damaged vehicle was confirmed as stolen.

Kayla Marie Cecka, 27, of Red Deer has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of counterfeit money, obstruction and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.

Luke Andrew Jardine, 25, of Red Deer has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of counterfeit money, possession of a substance, possession of counterfeit money, five counts of failing to comply with a recognizance, driving a motor vehicle without a license, failing to obey traffic control device, being a driver in accident fail to remain/return to scene and driving an uninsured motor vehicle.
