Where is the Auditor General in this fiasco?
11/19/08
I read with a great deal of interest in the Red Deer Express, an opinion article from Sam Denhaan and others. (Express Nov.12)
I too have many questions from rumors circulating about in the medical field.
First, there is a rumor that an e-mail was sent out to the department heads, stating that huge payouts to the outgoing CEO’s have put the system three years behind financially.
So, does this mean that there is no monies left to institute any improvements in health care for three years.?
Hmmmm. What is this “super board” all about?? It looks to me that we have an Alberta version of the Adscam scandal going on.
Also I have heard that the CEO of the “super board” is getting $3 to 5 million dollars a year in salary and perks.
That is too much for any CEO. It could be used to buy a lot of equipment and improve health care.
I have also been talking to several insiders in the Legislature. They are all very frustrated with the total lack of leadership from Ed Stelmach.
Some of them are saying that he is not a leader and things are worse than can be imagined. Apparently the bureaucrats are telling the ministers what to do.
Sounds like this is what has happened in the health care industry. Why did we not have any input before this was brought into creation?
Why have they not introduced the members of the “super board” to the public, leaving us saying “who are these guys” that are taking our tax dollars and giving it all to their friends.
Where is the Auditor General in Edmonton, and why is he not questioning this blatant theft of our tax dollars.
It looks like our government is broken and no longer effective. Shame on you Mary Anne Jablonski for supporting this.
