Shortly after 2 p.m. on Aug. 29, the Olds RCMP, along with emergency rescue crews, were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Range Road 14 and Township Road 334.
RCMP said a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina was westbound on Township Road 334 and passed through a yield sign at Range Road 14 where it collided with a southbound 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
The lone occupant of the Trailblazer was treated at hospital for minor injuries.

A six-year-old female was ejected during the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A two- year-old female was transported to the Olds Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The 38-year-old mother, who was driving the Lumina, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Olds Hospital.
Her 16-year-old son was transported to the Foothills hospital with life threatening injuries.
Olds RCMP, with the assistance of a collision analyst, continue to investigate the cause of this collision.
Alcohol and weather conditions are not considered to be contributing factors.
RCMP said it is believed all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. The two-year-old girl was in a car seat.
Although Olds RCMP has not released the identity of the deceased, they have been identified in media reports as six-year-old Sarah Olsen and her two-year-old sister Amber.

Murder charges have been laid against a Red Deer man in connection to the city’s first homicide since 2005.

He was remanded in custody to appear in Red Deer provincial court on August 29.
RCMP have identified 27-year-old Nathan Casey of Red Deer as the murder victim.
Red Deer’s last homicide occurred in June, 2005 when Grant Shoemaker was murdered at a West Park residence.
Last month, Paul Lionel White, 21, of Red Deer was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.
“Police are working very meticulously and tirelessly to find out what exactly happened here,” said Red Deer city RCMP spokesperson Const. Sabrina Grunow.
Shortly before 1 a.m. on Aug. 27, Red Deer city RCMP was called to an apartment block at 4733 – 54 St. to investigate a complaint of a disturbance.
When police officers arrived they discovered a 41-year-old Red Deer man who had sustained serious and multiple injuries.
Grunow said the man was transported to Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre.
Shortly thereafter, Mounties were called to investigate a scene one block north of the four-story apartment building.
Grunow said a man was found alive with serious injuries inside a vehicle in the 4700 block of 55 St., between 47 and 48 streets.
She did not release any details on how both men sustained their injuries.
Grunow would not say how serious his injuries were.
“As part of the investigation it was established very early on that the two incidents were related, that the victim and the man injured in the first instance are known to each other,” said Grunow.
She said police are continuing to interview possible witnesses, including residents at the apartment building.
The RCMP is continuing its investigation.
The ongoing probe is being conducted by the Red Deer City RCMP General Investigation Section, Calgary RCMP Serious Crime Branch, Red Deer Forensic Identification Services, and Red Deer Police Dog Services.
