Founded in 1946, the Red Deer Express has chronicled the lives of residents and events for Red Deer and Central Alberta for more than 55 years.
From our beginnings as the Weekender, Midweeker, Red Deer Adviser and Sunday Express community newspapers to todays weekly, full-color tabloid, we have focused on providing our readers award-winning journalism in every issue.
Our advertising, creative and news teams have collected numerous industry honours. The Canadian Community Newspapers' Association named us the best newspaper in the country in 1998.
Red Deer is one of Canadas fastest growing and progressive communities. Red Deer's central location gives it the distinction of being the only city on the Canadian prairies with a potential market of over 2 million people within a 160 kilometer radius. The trade area has grown to over 200,000 people.
Located in the heart of Alberta's beautiful parkland and midway between the two major cities of Calgary and Edmonton , Red Deer is central Alberta's trading and distribution centre.
