The Red Deer Express actively sponsors many community agencies and organizations involved in education, the arts, amateur sports and social programming. We also encourage staff to volunteer their time when possible to help enrich the community and give back where we can.
The newspaper provides financial and promotional assistance to the Red Deer College Foundation, the Arthritis Society, DTHR Foundation, Red Deer Symphony Orchestra, Junior Achievement Central Alberta Chapter, Canadian Cancer Society, Bethany Care Centre, United Way of Central Alberta, Red Deer Chamber of Commerce, Red Deer Hospice Society and many others,
In addition to financial contributions and volunteers numerous employees serve on boards and committees of many community-based organizations. Senior sales representative Ed Moller is past president of the Red Deer Kiwanis Club, Kiwanis lieutenant governor of the region, a director with the Twilight Homes Foundation and a Red Deer Chamber of Commerce ambassador. Bogeyman and Circulation Manager, Bob Grainger is actively involved in the Optimist Club and on the board for the 2006 as well as serving as Director of the Friends of the Alberta Summer Games. Publisher, Graham Schofield, is a member of the Downtown Rotary Club. Sales representative Lucille (Lou) Engh is a Chamber of Commerce ambassador and active member of the Canadian Home Builders' Association.
