The Best of Red Deer, Reader’s Choice Awards is the place to let the customers have their say and a time where the average Joe gets to reward businesses that proved superior in customer service.

It’s also the place to acknowledge all of the other people and amenities that make Red Deer the best.

Each year, popularity for the Express reader’s poll continues to grow. Thanks to the hundreds of people who took the time to fill out and submit their ballots in person and online.

During the ballot collection process, we take a number of measures and outline firm rules to ensure that the Best of Red Deer results are not compromised in any way. We do whatever we can to ensure that this poll is an accurate reflection of our readers.

This year, as the results were coming in we began to see a very interesting trend towards local businesses.

While large corporate stores will always be a part of our growing city’s retail economy, it is very encouraging to see our readers rally around home-grown businesses.

It’s these local business operators who have had the courage to build their businesses from the ground up that prove the spirit and tenacity of this great city.

As each year goes by, we continue to modify the categories to provide the most interesting mix of business and lifestyle.

We’re always open to new ideas so don’t hesitate to give us your opinion on the poll or share ideas on new categories.
