lululemon sets up shop

12/17/08

lululemon athletica has set up shop in Parkland Mall.

The temporary store will operate out of the mall, near the food court, until Jan. 20.

“Our pop up stores are a new concept this year,” said Tasha Chiu, communication relations for lululemon.

Thirteen pop up stores have been set up across Canada.

lululemon is a yoga inspired athletic apparel company.

“We are excited to get to know the community and fulfill their love of black stretchy pants and just have fun over the holidays,” said Chiu.

The store will carry lululemon’s core items including pants, hoodies, zip-up jackets, headbands, socks and underwear, hats and bags.

The store will offer both men and women’s wear.

Officials at Parkland Mall said they have been getting numerous calls and inquires about the new store.

“We have been in Red Deer for only a couple of days and the community has really embraced us,” said Leah Farrell, manager of the Red Deer lululemon store. “We invite everyone to come down and pay us a visit, introduce yourself because we would love to meet you.”

Chiu said there are no current plans to locate a lululemon store permanently in Red Deer.

No cash will be accepted at the store.
