The 2009 Kinsmen Dream Home is ready to open to the public next weekend.

The 2,612 square foot bi-level is located at 36 Clearview Dr. in Red Deer and opens at 12 p.m. on Oct. 31.

“Our hope, as it is every year, is that we sell out of tickets for the lottery completely,” said Craig Kinney, 2009 dream home chair. “What we're trying to achieve is raising enough money for the community so we're able to give back to local service groups and organizations.”

The grand prize for the lottery is an open concept five bedroom, two and a half bathroom home.

The dream home boasts a spacious kitchen complete with two tone birch cabinets with granite countertops.

It is filled with warm colours, hardwood floors and a cozy fireplace which is located on the main level.

The basement includes a wet bar and media room.

The home is valued at $659,000.

There are 86 prizes up for grabs in addition to the dream home.

Other prizes include a Honda Insight, golf packages, and a number of games tables, as well as hot tubs, trips and more.

The early bird prize includes a trip for two to Hawaii.

Last year over $300,000 was raised during the campaign.

Money raised goes back into the Central Alberta community and Kinsmen helps support a number of local organizations and groups.

“It helps us bring forth some of the most important issues to the community whether it be raising funds for a playground or not for profit organizations,” said Kinney. “The club tries to help out in any aspect in the community where we can and bring money where it is needed.”

In addition, each weekend the Red Deer Kinsmen Club will choose a local organization to support.

Ten dollars from each ticket sold on the weekend will go towards the designated group.

Tickets are $100 each or three for $250.

The early bird draw will take place on Dec. 3 with the final draw on Dec. 31.

The dream home is open every weekend from 12-5 p.m. until the end of December.
